Vermouth was critical to the development of American cocktail culture. There would be no modern version of the Manhattan or Martini without the early advent of vermouth. Even amidst this modern classic cocktail revival, American knowledge of European aromatized wines remains lacking. However, thanks to the small Minnesotan importer Haus Alpenz, bartenders seeking out high quality vermouths and aromatized wines can expand beyond the categories of “dry” or “sweet” and find unique flavor profiles for use in high quality craft cocktails.
Join us on August 11th when we welcome Amy Cairns to explore the wide world of quality European vermouths, aperitifs and aromatized wines now available to us in New Mexico. Plus, our master bar man, Julian, will feature a few of these beautiful items in simple, exceptional cocktails
