A Guide to this Summer’s Patio Pounders
Enjoy the kind of cool, refreshing white wine you’d drink by the pool when summer comes.
Since Santa Fe has been blessed with an unusually clement winter, we decided to host a warm weather wine tasting in March. With temperatures reaching the sixties this week, and no real relief in sight, we decided to embrace this unusual season and plan ahead for a scorching summer (maybe we’ll jinx it and it’ll start snowing all month.) Since drinking red wine in hot weather is about as appealing as eating warm mayonnaise, our line up is made up entirely of the kind of whites that pair perfectly with suntan lotion, walking around barefoot, and the possible adverse effects of global climate change. We’ll taste a spectrum of light to medium bodied wines that are refreshing, crisp, and impossibly quaffable. From the classics like Duckhorn Sauvignon Blanc and Veuve Cliquot, to the unexpectedly versatile Verdejo from Martinsancho and sustainably produced Pinot Grigio from Lageder, there’s sure to be something at this tasting that will inspire you to want to drink it out of plastic cups at your next pool party.
The Tasting Table will be open 3.00pm-5.00pm
