Summer Cider Seminar: An Introduction

July 20, 2019, 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

$20.00

The word “renaissance” has been thrown around a lot in the beverage world over the past few years, applied to everything from craft beer to rye whiskey. And in keeping with all recent renaissances, the world of cider has gotten much more diverse and experimental. But beyond this recent growth, cider holds a certain broad appeal. It is easy to appreciate from the geeky perspective of a wine lover, but also easy to drink on a hot summer afternoon without thinking too hard about it. And since part of what makes wine so interesting can be applied to cider too—now more than ever, there are more options on the market ranging from hometown local options to the more exotic and obscure—we decided to structure a tasting around some of the best bottles of cider we could source. So come by on Saturday for a tasting that will examine what makes cider so special, and why apples deserve some of the affection and attention we usually reserve for the products of grapes.
