Saturday Seminar: Benchmark Napa Cabernet Sauvignon

The undisputed king of American wine grapes and regions: Cabernet Sauvignon from the Napa Valley, in California. The combination of this Bordeaux grape grown in the Napa terroir quite literally put American wine into the international wine world. The style of Napa Cab has fluctuated throughout its reign, from restrained, European-style at the outset, to the heady, uber ripe and heavily oaked styles of the 90’s and early oughts, to the return of restraint in many of the current examples.

This seminar will focus on some of the most well regarded producers in the Valley – think Staglin, Heitz, Dunn, et al. Our own Brian Bargsten will be leading this seminar – a man who whet his wine appetite with classic Napa Cabernets before beginning his slippery slope into the etherial world of Burgundy.
