We are so excited to host Max Rosenstock, founder of NETA, for one of our Saturday Seminars!!
Max Rosenstock was born and raised in northern New Mexico, amongst multiple landscapes and communities that shaped and guided much of his identity, interests, and sensibilities... Max’s relationship with agave was initiated through extensive time spent in small villages of the sierra and valle of Miahuatlán in 2012.
Agave spirits - Tequila, Mezcal, et el. - have taken us by storm, particularly here in the Southwest. Similar to wine, the regulations in place around these spirits are complex; they dictate everything from location, agave species, fermentation and distillation techniques. As it always happens, certain individuals have risen to the top of the heap and developed the reputation for greatness. NETA is one such name. NETA is not a producer, rather Max, and the rest of the team, act as negotiants, connecting families from the tiny town of Logoche to the world. NETA translates to mean, "the truth or honestly", an apt name for what they do and the products they put their name on.
