Saturday Tasting: California Pinot Noir

With national and global awards and starring roles in movies and TV shows, California Pinot Noir has developed what can only be described as a cult status. From old school producers to micro, garage based wineries and custom crush facilities, it seems that just about every week we’re confronted with more delicious examples of California Pinot; join us this week as we open and taste six examples of this ever expanding category. We’ll be sticking rather close to the names and style that brought the spotlight to Cali Pinots just to give you all a sense of what the fuss is all about (as if you don’t already know) and why Pinot has essentially supplanted Cabernet as the California grape.
