SUMMARY:Winemaker Dinner: Marimar Torres from Marimar Estate
DESCRIPTION:The Torres family legacy stretches back centuries\, inexorably bound up with the history of enology in Spain and the expansion of viticulture to both North and South America. The is particularly exemplified through the work of fourth generation family member Marimar Torres\, director of Marimar Estate. Born in Barcelona during Franco’s dictatorship\, Marimar worked tirelessly to pursue both higher education and a place in the wine industry at a time when such things were incredibly difficult for women to attain. She founded her eponymous winery in 1986 after emigrating to the United States\, and it was here that she found renewed success as a vintner. The rolling green hills of the Russian River Valley\, cooled by the sea breezes and fog of the Pacific Ocean\, provided her with the perfect conditions for growing Chardonnay and Pinot Noir in the model of her family’s rigorous standards for quality fine wine. On November 6th we celebrate the wines of Marimar Estate with a very special dinner designed to highlight the elegance and balance of these unique wines\, which represent an ideal marriage between Catalonian and Californian viticulture. \nRECEPTION\nBlanc de Noirs Sonoma Coast Doña Margarita Vineyard\, 2017 \nFIRST\nStriped Bass Crudo\nwatercress\, burnt meyer lemon purée\, garlic chips\nAlbariño\, Russian River Valley Don Miguel Vineyard\, 2017 \nSECOND\nHouse Made Cavatelli\nwild mushrooms\, kale\, oregon hazelnuts\, pecorino\nChardonnay Russian River Valley ‘Acero’ Don Miguel Vineyard\, 2017\nChardonnay Russian River Valley Don Miguel Vineyard\, 1995\, en magnum \nTHIRD\nCrispy Duck Confit\nBrown butter turnip purée\, salsify\, leek fondue\, crispy leeks\nPinot Noir Russian River Valley ‘La Masia’ Don Miguel Vineyard\, 2015\nPinot Noir Sonoma Coast ‘Mas Cavalls’ Don Miguel Vineyard\, 2015 \nMignardises \n  \n$95 per person\, not including service and tax\nCall to make your reservation – 505.983.2100\nMust be 21 or older to attend.\nDue to the nature of the menu\, there can be no substitutions or modifications.\nMenu subject to change based on product availability \nWe recommend guests use transport alternatives (taxi\, Uber\, Lyft) when attending our events.\nIt eases parking problems and avoids any surprise encounters with local law enforcement. \n\n

SUMMARY:Staglin Family Winery Dinner
DESCRIPTION:Staglin Family Winery Dinner\nwith\nAmber Mihna CS CSW\nNational Sales Manger \nThe Staglin property lies on the famous Rutherford Bench\, producing Cabernet-based red wine with a distinctive dustiness\, in addition to a well deserved reputation for brilliant Chardonnays. In 1985 they acquired some of the top vineyard sources in the area for their bottling\, and took full advantage of the wisdom of the incomparable Andre Tchelistcheff\, who was responsible for planting 50 acres of the west side of the valley in 1965. Vineyard manager David Abreau is one of the most in-demand Napa Valley viticulturists\, and has been tending the Staglin Family Vineyard since it began to be farmed organically in 1990. Winemaker Fredrik Johansson has the finesse to bring out the best of this Rutherford site in every bottling since he became lead winemaker in 2007. Both the red and the white wines of Staglin have been uniformly rising in quality since he took over\, so join us as we welcome Amber for a dinner celebrating the current releases of this historic Californian winery. \n  \nAmuse \nGrains & Greens\nFarro\, Quinoa\, Garden Kale\, Candied Pecans\,\nBlue Jay Clue Cheese\, Spiced Cider Vinaigrette \nSalus Chardonnay Rutherford\, 2016\nStaglin Family Vineyard Estate Chardonnay Rutherford\, 2016 \n  \nRoasted Moulard Duck Breast\nBeluga Lentils\, Black Figs\, Fall Spices\, Duck Jus \nSalus Cabernet Sauvignon Booth Bella Oaks Rutherford\, 2014 \n  \nChef’s Cheese Selection\nTraditional Accompaniments \nStaglin Family Vineyard Estate Cabernet Sauvignon Rutherford\, 2013 \n  \nMignardises \n$135 per person\, plus 20% service and tax.\nSeating is very limited to 20 guests.\nReservations can be made by calling 505.983.2100.\nDue to the nature of the menu\, there can be no substitutions or modifications.\nMenu subject to change based on product availability. \nWe recommend guests use transport alternatives (taxi\, Uber\, Lyft) when attending our events.
